CMLC is governed by a seven-member Board of Directors appointed by The City of Calgary. The diversity and depth of knowledge that our Board members bring to our organization have been instrumental in our achievements and success.
Following a successful and commanding campaign, Naheed Nenshi was elected as Calgary’s 36th mayor on October 19, 2010. An accomplished business professional and community leader, Mayor Nenshi has a solid track record for getting things done. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary and a Masters in Public Policy from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Mayor Nenshi started his career with international business consulting firm, McKinsey & Co. and later became a professor in non-profit management at Mount Royal University. Since 2001, he headed his own business, the Ascend Group, a consultancy assisting public, private and nonprofit organizations to grow.
Mayor Nenshi is passionate about Calgary and has lent his expertise to nonprofits across the city. He’s also served on the leadership team of imagineCalgary, where he was the primary author of Calgary’s 100-year vision.
