For the past three years, we’ve been making East Village developer-ready. In fact, the neighbourhood has experienced a revolution since CMLC’s establishment in 2007. In September 2009 we unveiled our master plan to guide East Village’s transformation for the next 10 years. We’ve invested $108 million into remediation and infrastructure upgrades to the site, and received approvals from Calgary city council on Rivers District projects in the amount of $265.5 million.
To date, East Village has partnered with two premier international developers: Embassy Bosa Inc. and FRAM + Slokker. Together, the teams are investing $600 million into the neighbourhood, delivering more than 1.2 million square feet of mixed-use residential product.
East Village is 49 acres of prime real estate bordered by the Bow and Elbow rivers, and strategically located in downtown Calgary. Easily accessible and state-of-the-art, East Village will be an amenity-rich neighbourhood that’s home to parks, the RiverWalk promenade, restaurants, cafés, retail and a variety of residences to fit any lifestyle. Architectural variety and vibrancy will add to the eclectic feel of the area, which ultimately translates to desirability, attractiveness and value.
