CMLC Searches for New President & CEO

(Calgary, Alberta) – Calgary Municipal Land Corporation (CMLC) is moving closer to identifying a new president and CEO as the organization announced today that it has secured executive search firm, Conroy Ross Partners, to undertake a national search for qualified candidates.  CMLC’s board of directors has provided the search firm with a professional profile of the successful candidate, and is optimistic that a new president and CEO will be identified in the next several months.

“We need an individual who can wear many hats”, said Lyle Edwards, CMLC board chair. “The successful candidate has to be a great visionary, collaborator, communicator and leader.  It’s a tall order, but we’re confident that a national search will produce a list of qualified individuals, with demonstrated expertise in brown-field redevelopment projects, who can bring a fresh, open perspective to the operation.”

In the meantime, its business as usual as CMLC moves forward with $600 million, or more than 1.2 million square feet, of mixed-use residential development – the first land development deals in the neighbourhood in more than a decade. Edwards will remain as acting president of CMLC until the announcement of a new president and CEO. CMLC’s former president & CEO Chris Ollenberger resigned his post in January.

CMLC is a company of passionate, experienced placemakers who bring new energy to old neighbourhoods, create credibility and confidence, and inspire communities to build, grow and believe.
