Survey Results CLOSE

We are pleased to report that our recent survey was a great success! Thank you so much for your participation and interest in the East Village development. Below you will find some highlights from the survey which we wished to share:

Almost 2,000 Calgary professionals and students completed the survey.

The demographics of the survey were representative, as they closely matched those of the general Calgary population.

Over 50% of respondents showed a positive response to the East Village development, and expressed their interest in what CMLC is working on.

Over 35% of respondents desire to live in an urban area with vibrant street life and eco-friendly options similar to what we have envisioned for East Village.

Over 50% of our respondents clearly indicate that the attractiveness of a city is of great importance to them when deciding on a place to live.

However, Calgarian respondents are primarily in Calgary because their family and friends are located here. They consider Calgary a "Gateway to leisure activities in the Rockies" and a "Hardworking city."

Many perceive Calgary to have a high cost of living and unimpressive architecture while also lacking in culture and arts.

This is where East Village will step in! Your input will guide the developments in East Village, making it a place that is built around the future residents' needs.

The future East Village will …

…be a new way of living in Calgary—modern, human scale and ecologically friendly housing.

…allow you to express yourself creatively and live your life as you want to in a diverse and tolerant community with a sense of place.

…provide exciting 24/7 entertainment, cultural, and dining options just steps from your door.

…provide workplace convenience—walk to your office in the morning and come back for lunch.

…be where your car spends more time parked than on the road—completely walkable and built for pedestrians.

…offer a natural outdoor playground for anything active—raft on the rivers, bike on a pathway, play in the park.

Again, we would like to thank you for your input. We would also like to announce the winners of the prize drawing we conducted for participants who completed the survey.
