Embassy Bosa

In October 2010, CMLC secured the first major land development deal in East Village in more than a decade. The developer, Vancouver’s Embassy BOSA, is delivering a three-phase riverfront project now under construction, along with an innovative residential development that combines an urban format retail centre at street-level.

Fram + Slokker

In February 2011, CMLC inked East Village’s second major land development deal with Ontario-based FRAM Building Group and Slokker Real Estate Group (FRAM + Slokker).

Knightsbridge

In June 2014, CMLC announced the sale of two land parcels near the historic St. Louis Hotel to Knightsbridge Homes – our first major land deal with a Calgary-based developer. Designed with Generation Y in mind, Knightsbridge Homes’ proposed twin projects along 8th Avenue SE will add 300 condominium homes to East Village.

Cidex Developments

Early in 2015, CMLC secured the sale of a land parcel on the corner of 5th Street and 7th Avenue SE to Cidex Developments – the developer behind the highly successful trio of towers in Calgary’s Westgate Park (Ovation, Encore and Brava).

National Music Centre

In 2008, CMLC launched a national campaign calling for ideas to rejuvenate the historic King Eddy. The Cantos Music Foundation stepped forward with a brilliant proposal: reinvent the acclaimed hotel as a National Music Centre.

Calgary Public Library

As the developer and co-funder of the New Central Library in East Village, CMLC has been working closely with Calgary Public Library and the City of Calgary to realize the vision for this vital and valuable civic amenity.

Fort Calgary

EVNA

East Village Neighbourhood Association represents the interests of the neighbourhood’s long-time residents and businesses, holds annual events including a Canada Day street fair, assists with programming and communicates the needs of the community's senior population.

The Calgary Drop-in & rehab Centre

The Calgary Drop-in and Rehab Centre (the DI) is an East Village facility that houses, cares for and helps rehabilitate a population that would be otherwise marginalized.

CMLC and Calgary Opera have partnered to create dynamic and innovative cultural events in East Village. Under the guidance of Calgary Opera General Director and CEO Bob McPhee, our teams collaborated to create Opera in the Village.

Enmax

Situated on the southwest corner of 4th Street and 9th Avenue SE, the Downtown District Energy Centre is capable of supplying heat for up to six million sq. ft. of new and existing residential and commercial space.

Simmons tenants

The Simmons Building's new tenants are local food and beverage heroes. All were founded in Calgary, all were home grown from grass roots, and all have become highly regarded local brands.

widewaters / hilton hotel

In April 2012, CMLC announced another major land deal - our third in East Village - with US-based Widewaters Group, a real estate development and management company with extensive experience in retail, hospitality and office development. The deal will see a 303 room, dual-branded hotel built in East Village.

Riocan

In April 2013, CMLC finalised the sale of the former Calgary Police Association lands (Gateway block) to RioCan. Canada’s largest Real Estate Investment Trust, RioCan develops, owns and manages a variety of urban and suburban shopping centres across Canada.

Alt by Germain

In October 2014, Groupe Germain Hospitalité – a family-run business in Quebec City that owns and operates 10 ALT Hotels and Le Germain Boutique-hotels across the country (with four more currently under construction) – announced plans to build an ALT Hotel in East Village.

XYC Development

In September 2014, CMLC’s vision for East Village took another huge stride forward with the sale of a quarter-acre lot along the newly redeveloped RiverWalk™ to Calgary’s XYC Design + Development.
