In 2007, city council created CMLC and sent us forth with the ambitious mandate to revitalize the Rivers District and, in particular, the neighbourhood of East Village. Since that time, progress has been rapid.
For its New Central Library, the City of Calgary chose a prime location: one block east of City Hall in the burgeoning cultural hotspot of East Village.
Public art and a vibrant cultural scene make a neighbourhood more inviting, more engaging and ultimately more desirable as a place to live.
CMLC has expanded our focus to unlock placemaking potential in the broader Rivers District area.
