True to CMLC's primary purpose, our goal is to build from the ground up. And that's what we're doing—literally. We are tearing up streets, digging up sidewalks, replacing sewage pipes, and renewing a whole cluster of public infrastructure improvements that will prepare land in the East Village for developers.
Both an opportunity and a challenge, it's not very often that a community gets a chance to start with an almost blank slate.
These infrastructure improvements will serve as a catalyst for public and private sector development; essentially, the key to triggering East Village's urban renewal.
Infrastructure improvements include the planning design and construction phases for: utility installation, road construction, floodplain raising, construction of a storm-pond retention wetland, the installation of District Energy piping, the reconfiguration of sideways into pedestrian-friendly streetscapes and park development.
