Road Construction CLOSE

Some road infrastructure within the East Village will require upgrading due to utility upgrading, flood control purposes and to accommodate wider sidewalks and narrower carriageways. New roads such as the Riverfront Avenue Connection will facilitate entry into the East Village, while Ninth Avenue SE has been converted to two-way traffic to facilitate traffic flow during the development phase, and Eighth Avenue SE is undergoing a complete face-lift that includes the rebuilding of the road, underground utilities, widening and reconstruction of sidewalks, new landscaping, open spaces, street lights and signage.
