Riverwalk Urban Promenade

Imagine stepping outside of your home, or outside of your office door for that matter, and within a few minutes finding yourself sipping a cappuccino on the banks of the Bow and Elbow rivers. Sound too good to be true? Well, it's not. Welcome to RiverWalk! When completed, this lively pedestrian and biking pathway will be lined with busy cafés, restaurants and live entertainment.

Embracing the Bow River and highlighting its rich history as it meanders through the Rivers District, RiverWalk is a significant component of the overall redevelopment of the area and the true soul of the district. This 4 km urban promenade, currently under construction,  will connect to the rest of Calgary's 600+ kilometers of recreation/bike pathways. RiverWalk will restore the natural beauty of the riverbanks, improve connectivity with adjacent neighbourhoods, be a conduit to cultural events, and evoke a sense of place for those who use it and admire it.
