Design Vision (Portland, Oregon, USA)

Our Design Observation for this site is that the centerpiece and focus of Project ought to be St. Patrickís Island and its future as a beloved City Park. We noted that by placing both Cable Stay Bridge Supports in the Island we could eliminate any piers in the water/ice, and minimize impacts on each river bank and control costs.† As the Island is named for St. Patrick, we conceived of a Glorious Castle, reminiscent of Irish Castles, to anchor the Bridge.† The ëSt. Patrickís Castle Bridgeí will act as a hub for those crossing the river, and for those coming to the Island to relax and recreate.† It will, we believe, become a beloved centerpiece for the Regional River area, and for the City of Calgary.
