St. PatrickÃs Bridge is designed for public use for both pedestrian and cyclist, with 2 spans crossing the river, located at the northwest mouth of St. PatrickÃs Island.†The new bridge, once in place, will replace the existing bridge, which, with some restraints, no longer satisfy the cityÃs further development.
With architectural expression to mirror the symbol of the Bow River plus the engineering design joining forces to achieve its unique configuration, the new bridge is designed to use 4 high strength steel pipes for one span, bent to unique arch shapes, the high point is approaching 8m, 2 middle arches are tilted towards each other connecting with another arch with bracing rods.†The steel and concrete composing deck is prefabricated and seating on transverse tubes which are connecting to longitudinal tube suspended with an outside arch using a high strength stainless tube rod.
The bridge is divided to 2 spans with approximately one 100M and another 70m, plus a 5m landing platform between 2 spans, total bridge length is roughly reaching 175m.
