In October 2010, CMLC secured the first major land development deal in East Village in more than a decade. The developer, Vancouver’s Embassy BOSA, is delivering a three-phase riverfront project – “Evolution” – that encompasses high-rise and mid-rise condominium towers, town homes and street-level retail. With an estimated value of $325 million, Evolution will comprise approximately 730,000 square feet of mixed-use development including 600+ residential units.
Evolution - FUSE
The first new mixed-use project in the newly revitalized East Village, Embassy BOSA’s FUSE broke ground in September 2012 and welcomed its first new residents in September 2015.
Evolution - PULSE
Construction of Evolution’s second phase, PULSE, began in spring 2013. On completion in 2016, PULSE will tower 33 storeys above the Calgary skyline and the river’s edge, beckoning Calgarians to embrace a new standard of inner-city living in Calgary. Pulse has a limited selection of units remaining. evolutioncalgary.com
In September 2014, Embassy BOSA and RioCan Investment Trust announced a new partnership that will combine a major retail presence (including a new Loblaws City Market) with two multi-family residential towers. The first of the project’s two phases will include a ‘retail podium’ with approximately 188,000 sq ft of retail space and a 40-storey residential tower. Phase 2 will see the addition of a second, 23-storey residential tower.
Located on the East Village block bounded by 3rd and 4th Streets SE and 5th and 6th Avenues SE, the two towers by Embassy BOSA will bring an additional 600 residential units (and an additional $300 million in development investment) to East Village.
