6th Street Edges
The Fort Calgary Edges project was a landscaping project designed to create a respectful delineation between East Village – an urban residential and commercial village – and Fort Calgary, a national historic site and unique open space in the city. Completed in 2013, the Edges project provides an inviting public space along 6th Street SE and features a plaza space at 9th Avenue and 6th Street SE that punctuates the gateway for East Village at the corner of Fort Calgary.
The space features 5 impressive Sentinels that stand guard, in RCMP red, and highlight historical figures from Calgary’s history.
Location: 9th Ave SE, 6th St.
