Do you love to be in the know about exciting urban projects and events, love telling others about it… oh, and getting paid to do it? You might just be the perfect fit for our Engagement, Activation & Street Team (EAST Team). Calgary Municipal Land Corporation (CMLC), the master developer of Calgary’s East Village and The Culture + Entertainment District is seeking part-time employees to join our team from June 17, 2025 – October 27, 2025. We are seeking candidates who are confident and engaged and will approach event execution and brand ambassador duties with exuberance and a positive attitude. You attend a variety of events and festivals, are in the know on all YYC happenings and could be described as a ‘person about town’ You already love East Village and often find yourself advocating for what thriving urban neighbourhoods do for our city You’re excited about the future Culture and Entertainment District and can envision the area as a thriving, bustling scene Your friends might say you’re too chatty, but you just think silence is super awkward You like there to be a bit of a physical component to your job, it makes you feel productive and you don’t mind digging in to get the job done plus you like it to look just right You have a desire to grow your event management and marketing skill set Most of the things you’ll get up to as a member of EAST Team: Support the delivery of a robust calendar of outdoor activations, events and programming in East Village, St Patrick’s Islandand in The Culture + Entertainment District Be committed to providing a positive experience for everyone that you encounter Perform all necessary set-up and tear-down duties for activations, following direction from production schedules and supervisors (lifting, bending, walking, biking and light cleaning is required) Intercept and engage with area visitors and event participants in order to educate on East Village and/or The Culture + Entertainment District Understand and deliver key messages to advance the public’s familiarity with the neighbourhood, progress and milestones, upcoming activations, events and programming, etc. Support the retail ‘Merch’ program with sales and fulfillment of our cool, locally sourced products Distribute promotional collateral and brand tools to area visitors and event participants Serve as an on-site representative to third-party event coordinators at park and event spaces in East Village, St Patrick’s Island and The Culture + Entertainment District Capture the energy, activities and interactions taking place through cell phone photography Notify maintenance team when site support is required Manage inventory of on-site supplies and marketing collateral, ensure storage areas are organized This is a part-time position with 2-4 shifts available per week and 6-20 projected hours per week. Most shifts take place on evenings and weekends and most are outside. Successful candidates must have a flexible schedule able to accommodate these shifts. Pretty convinced you were born for this?
