BMO Centre Expansion Request for Proposals
The BMO Centre has been Calgary’s main venue for consumer and trade shows, special events, meetings and conferences since it was built in 1982. As a key component of the Rivers District Master Plan, the expansion of the BMO Centre is a critical first step toward establishing downtown Calgary’s east end as Calgary’s Cultural and Entertainment District. Culminating in 535,500 square feet of rentable space, the planned $500 million expansion will make BMO Centre the second largest meeting facility in the country after the Toronto Convention Centre, and it will position Calgary as a top Canadian destination in the highly competitive meetings and conventions market.
All RFP’s relating to the expansion of the BMO Centre will be posted on Biddingo, MERX and APC.
On January 9, 2019, CMLC and Calgary Stampede hosted an information session to provide an overview of the project and tendering process. A copy of that presentation can be found here.
