Background and General Scope of Position:

Reporting to the CFO & VP, Corporate Services, the Financial Analyst will play a key part in delivering accurate financial insight and support corporate decision-making through forecasting, modeling, and reporting. The successful candidate will work with a wide range of strategic and operational initiatives, including special projects and process improvement efforts.

The successful candidate will bring a blend of technical expertise and business acumen, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate it clearly to stakeholders across the organization.

The Financial Analyst is a proactive with a passion for continuous improvement. They thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The successful candidate possesses excellent interpersonal skills and is comfortable working cross-functionally to support high-impact initiatives. This person has a strong foundation in financial analysis, and data visualization which enables them to provide accurate and insightful recommendations that drive value across the organization.

Key Accountabilities / Deliverables:

  • Lead financial forecasting, identifying trends and risks to inform planning, support with budgeting, and variance analysis.
  • Build and maintain financial models to support long-term planning, investment analysis, and business cases.
  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and visualizations to communicate financial data to stakeholders.
  • Assist in ad hoc analysis and special projects, providing timely and actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to produce financial proformas for upcoming projects.
  • Support the implementation of initiatives that increase control awareness and financial accountability across the organization.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

Desired Education

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. CPA, CFA, or progress toward a professional designation is an asset.


ESSENTIAL RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in a financial analyst or similar role.
  • Experience in the Development Industry preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with experience in financial modeling.
  • Experience with dashboard and BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial audiences.

    Communications Strategist

    Background and General Scope of Position Reporting to the Senior Manager of Communications, the Communications Strategist will be a dynamic communicator responsible for delivering a diverse range of communication strategies and tactics for the organization. Working within CMLC’s Marketing and Communications team, the Communications Strategist will have cross-functional coordination responsibilities, and will support the execution of CMLC’s strategic plan priorities and annual communications strategy to generate awareness of the organization’s role as a community-builder, and to support the delivery of the East Village and Rivers District master plan visions, as well as of our Transit-Oriented Communications portfolio. The Communications Strategist will execute and evaluate the success of corporate and project communications strategies, working with internal and external project teams to advance awareness of major CMLC-led city-building investments. The Communications Strategist will also support the delivery of external community engagement programs in support of CMLC’s community development planning, and will play a critical role in the delivery of the organization’s broader corporate communication strategies, including but not limited to earned media programs, speaking engagements, and internal communications.     Events, Programming and Site Liaison

    Marketing & Communications

    Background and General Scope of Position: Reporting to the Senior Manager, Programming & Events, the Events, Programming and Site Liaison will be a highly energetic and creative individual; supporting the planning and delivery of year-round public programs and activations across the communities where CMLC leads city-building work – including East Village, The Culture + Entertainment District (C+E), and beyond. This full-time, one-year contract position plays a key supporting role on CMLC’s Events & Programming team, contributing to vibrant, inclusive programming that animates public spaces and brings our community visions to life. The role focuses on event delivery, logistics, programming, public space management and site support in outdoor public spaces such as Pixel Park and other CMLC-managed public spaces. A primary responsibility of the position includes serving as an on-site liaison for CMLC’s outdoor activation spaces and providing day-to-day support to CMLC’s EAST (Engagement, Activation & Street Team)—our on-the-ground crew responsible for activation set-up and takedown, site management, and public-facing engagement. The role also serves as a weekend and on-call contact for the EAST Team, providing real-time support and helping ensure smooth delivery of weekend programming. The role requires weekday and weekend hours including frequent evenings. The standard work week is 37.5 hours, Wednesday through Sunday, with a balance of outdoor and office-based responsibilities, on-site presence and on-call support as required based on programming needs. The Events, Programming and Site Liaison has a minimum of three to five years’ experience of community programming or event planning logistics, including venue operations, creative activations and partner collaborations. He/she/they possess(es) strong leadership skills, clear verbal and written communications and detail-oriented organizational skills. Event and programming activations are delivered in a dynamic outdoor urban setting, requiring engagement with a diverse audience and participants from various socio-economic backgrounds. Successful execution involves physical readiness to handle event setup and breakdown, including tents, tables, and other event supplies. A strong commitment to accuracy, attention to detail, and dedication to excellence is essential to ensure events are carried out seamlessly and professionally. He/she/they must have an appreciation for working collaboratively with colleagues across organizational departments and with external parties including guests, vendors, community partners, entertainment performers and production suppliers. Key Accountabilities / Deliverables: Serve as the on-site liaison for CMLC’s outdoor activation spaces, working with vendors, external event organizers, and guests to foster vibrant, high-traffic community spaces that reflect strong brand alignment. Coordinate and support daily operations for Pixel Park, including opening and closing duties, addressing on-site challenges, and ensuring the space remains clean, organized, and welcoming. Provide regular support for EAST Team activations in East Village, the Culture + Entertainment District, and other areas within the CMLC portfolio, including the creation of shift notes outlining logistics and daily requirements. Act as the weekend troubleshooting contact for the EAST Team, providing timely support and guidance for issues that arise during programming and events. Support the delivery of a year-round calendar of programs and events by procuring supplies, assisting artists and entertainers, and providing basic sound technician support. Contribute ideas and support for new programs and partnerships that align with CMLC’s placemaking and community-building objectives. Assist in navigating and supporting the implementation of partner agreements, ensuring deliverables and responsibilities are tracked and fulfilled. Assist the marketing team by supporting the promotion of events and programming through on-the-ground coordination and brand consistency. Help cultivate an inclusive and safe public space environment by working collaboratively with the EAST Team, community partners, contractors, and social service agencies. Demonstrate the ability to navigate and respond to the diverse needs of the community. Support the coordination of CMLC’s brand engagement booths at events across Calgary, ensuring smooth setup, staffing, and on-brand public presence. Act as an ambassador for CMLC and its place brands, reinforcing key messages aligned with CMLC’s communication, marketing, and placemaking goals.
