Calgary Stampede
Collaborative city-building with an important master-plan partner.
The Calgary Stampede (CS) is among CMLC’s most important partners, playing a crucial role in helping us realize the Rivers District Master Plan (RDMP) vision. Under a 2016 memorandum of understanding to collaboratively advance the master plan, CMLC and CS partnered up to usher in the now completed BMO Centre expansion, 17th Avenue extension and Victoria Park/Stampede Station rebuild, and and are currently working on final stages of Stampede Trail.
In 2026, CMLC and Calgary Stampede unveiled a new Calgary Stampede Master Plan, a plan that updates the original Calgary Stampede Master Plan (2004), and builds on the vision set by RDMP, translating its land use principles into and that reflects the distinct character and programming needs of the Calgary Stampede.
