Truman breaks ground on Autograph Collection Hotel on Stampede Park
On anticipated opening in 2028, the 320-key Autograph Collection hotel will provide in-demand hotel rooms to support BMO Centre’s growing meetings and conventions pipeline.
Enabling hotel development to meet rising demand
Hotel development is a key part of the vision for Calgary’s Culture + Entertainment District—supporting major events, welcoming visitors, and bringing even more energy to a district designed to thrive both day and night.
As steward of the Rivers District Master Plan, CMLC and the Calgary Stampede have partnered to attract hotel investment to The Culture + Entertainment District.
Working with a range of development partners to realize hotel projects that support the District vision and respond to the growing demand for hotel rooms generated by the expanded BMO Centre and the forthcoming Scotia Place, Calgary’s new event centre.
There are three hotel sites identified on Stampede Park in the Rivers District Master plan, which will support the growing demand for hotel space for the hundreds of meetings and conventions, concerts and sporting events that take place in The District every year.
Hotels in The C+E will complement the District experience with elevated food and beverage offerings, meeting and ballroom spaces, and more.
Located just steps away from Western Canada’s largest convention centre and Calgary’s future event centre, three new hotel developments by Truman, in collaboration with Marriott International, are planned for The Culture + Entertainment District. The Autograph Collection Hotel is expected to open in 2028. Together, the projects will bring over 700 new hotel rooms to the district.
Hotel investment spurred by the opening of the expanded BMO Centre and groundbreaking of Scotia Place demonstrate significant industry confidence in the vision for Calgary’s Culture + Entertainment District.
