CMLC Welcomes Mayor Farkas, Councillor Kelly and Councillor Ward to Board of Directors

    Following the municipal election on October 20, 2025, CMLC is pleased to welcome Mayor Jeromy Farkas and two new Councillor appointments to CMLC’s Board of Directors: Ward 4 Councillor DJ Kelly and Ward 11 Councillor Rob Ward.

    CMLC’s Board of Directors is made up of a diverse group of business leaders, industry specialists, and representatives of Calgary City Council. Responsible for the overall governance of CMLC, the Board approves all significant decisions that affect the Corporation and reviews the results.

    Mayor Jeromy Farkas: Mayor Farkas served as the Councillor representing Ward 11 from 2017-2021 representing. Following his term on Council, he hiked the pacific crest trail as a fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters and, since 2023, has served as the CEO of the Glenbow Ranch Park Foundation. He also recently served on the Board of Directors for The Alex Community Health Centre. Jeromy is equipped with a bachelor’s degree in political science and government, and previously worked as a senior fellow at the Manning Foundation.

    Councillor DJ Kelly: Councillor DJ Kelly brings a wealth of community experience to City Council, having most recently served as the Director of Community Partnerships at the University of Calgary. Councillor Kelly previously worked at The City of Calgary, where he led the corporate marketing team and authored The City’s Digital Strategy and Information Management and Security Policy. Councillor Kelly has a bachelor's degree from the University of Calgary, is a graduate of Leadership Calgary, and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) by the Project Management Institute.

    Councillor Rob Ward: Councillor Rob Ward is a native Calgarian, and has worked in the oil and gas, retail, sales, tech and non-profit industries throughout his career. For the past six years, Councillor Ward has served as the Chair of the Willow Park Charity Golf Classic, bringing together volunteers to deliver considerable fundraising efforts. Councillor Ward has a Business Management Diploma from SAIT and Bachelor of Business Management with a major in Marketing from University of Lethbridge.
