East Village rental market gets another boost (plus a Superstore!)

Calgary’s most desirable community, East Village, continues to evolve to meet the needs of the city. One of East Village’s most prominent builders, BOSA Development, has begun construction on the first of two Arris towers. This building was originally slated to be market residential. But, due to the growing demand for rental homes in downtown Calgary, BOSA changed tacks and is now offering the building’s units as 100% rental.

Arris is a mixed-use development that will include in-house amenities and daily conveniences right outside. The first Arris residential tower will bring approximately 190 rental units to East Village over its 26 storeys. The second, larger tower—at 43 storeys—will begin construction at a later date.

Arris’s two residential towers will be complemented by an urban-format retail podium—5th & THIRD—being built in partnership with RioCan Investment Trust. This retail component broke ground in spring 2016 and will be anchored by Real Canadian Superstore®. The newest addition to Calgary’s Superstore lineup, the East Village edition will offer all the freshness and variety you could want in a handy one-stop urban supermarket: produce, bakery, full-service deli, meat and seafood, optical department and pharmacy—plus the ever-popular President’s Choice®, Joe Fresh® and no name® products. Shoppers heading to 5th & THIRD will enjoy the centre’s ample underground parking when it opens in summer 2020.

This past summer, East Village’s first rental building, The Hat, opened, offering 221 rental units. The Hat’s one- to three-bedroom rental units are filling up fast.

This development offers a supremely convenient marriage of living, working and shopping to suit every lifestyle—and we love watching it take shape on our doorstep!
